Toyota Recalls 150K Tacmoa Pickups

Toyota is recalling 2001-2004 Tacoma pickups due to the potential for a rusted spare tire retainer. The retainer may be susceptible to corrosion and cause the spare tire to drop from the carrier, potentially causing an accident. 2001-2002-Toyota-Tacomas originally sold or registered in Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and the District of Columbia are subject to the recall. Toyota is expected to begin the recall in December 2012 and the owners will be contacted.
