Connecting with THI Group At the 2013 SEMA Show

Bill Reminder of The THI Group, Shares Insights To Maximizing Time At The 2013 SEMA Show.

Extang is long-time SEMA Show veteran that also believes maximizing time at the show involves announcing new products and setting up meetings beforehand. According to Bill Reminder, CEO of The THI Group, manufacturer of Extang, Truxedo, BedRug, UnderCover and Advantage products, this method has provided excellent results over many years, and is part of their continued success at the show. “We send announcements to our customers and preferred dealers,” said Reminder. “We also run print and digital media, and participate in social media outlets like Facebook.” In addition to pre-show information, Extang sponsors products on many show vehicles and, because of their long-standing participation in the show, have a prominent position in the South Hall that provides maximum exposure to new customers. “Our booth is one of the largest on purpose,” said Reminder. “We want visitors to be able to explore our product in use and on full-size trucks, not just showroom displays.”
Needless to say, the company wants new and prospective dealers to attend the show and make the time and effort they put into their participation worthwhile. But in addition to that, the company believes attending the show provides the most comprehensive exposure to every  new product, technical improvement, trend, and concept in the industry. “Lots of products are in the final development or re-launch stage when they are presented at SEMA,” says Reminder. “We take our new products to this show and welcome the chance to get input and feedback from the people who sell them every day. We want anyone who visits our booth to be able to drill down and fully understand the depth of features and benefits of our tonneaus and why the words “Extang Engineered” are so important. Face to face is our favorite interaction!”
Show attendees will expect to find every level of the company’s sales representatives, including Reminder, available for discussions. While it sounds like their booth may get a bit crowded, Reminder likes the fact that there’s plenty of staff on hand to service anyone who comes by. “Because we have so many well-informed staff members on hand, we have time to engage with every visitor, take time to answer questions, provide more information, or make on-the-spot decisions.”
Like many manufacturers, Extang recommends taking a short amount of time prior to the show to make an appointment. This maximizes time at the show, and ensures proper engagement and conversation with the right people. “We know it’s really hard to lock down a time when there is so much to see, but an appointment window will help ensure that if there is someone specific they want to meet, that person will be there,” said Reminder. “It’s certainly not a requirement. We really look forward to the chance to see everyone who comes to the show!” Extang is at booth#31099 at the 2013 SEMA Show.
