Connecting With Cequent At The 2013 SEMA Show

The Plymouth, Michigan, hitch and cargo management manufacturer has lots of experience attending the SEMA Show. Because of
this, they’ve developed deep relationships with many retailers across the country and attribute much of their success to meeting new dealers at the show. With lots of competition in the hitch market, Cequent’s Christina Clarke, public relations and communications specialist, said the company works hard to stand out, but also looks forward to promoting their brands at the
show. “We take great pride in displaying key products that are being introduced and displayed within the New Products Showcase,” she said. The company also provides its products to select vehicle builders, so they can get additional branding and visibility. Cequent definitely recommends attending the show, and feels meeting face to face plays an important role in creating a successful partnership with new and existing customers. “We understand that it is difficult to take time away from the office, but we do encourage any interested retailers to try and make it to the show,” said Clarke. “It’s a great way to meet the manufacturer of your favorite products, get an inside look at new products, and to build your company’s network.”
At this year’s show, Cequent will staff its booth with employees who dealers may not always get to meet in person. “Anyone can approach our friendly staff with questions. We always welcome new dealers and jobbers, and just ask that they come with any pertinent business information if they wish to set up an account with us,” said Clarke.
To make the most out of a short time at the show, the company recommends planning booth visits to optimize the time spent with each exhibitor, and have a list of questions ready to keep meetings short. Because Cequent is a sponsor of select NASCAR race teams, the company will have a NASCAR simulator in its booth this year. The simulator allows attendees to play and win prizes, and will be a fun break between meetings. “We will also feature our #19 Draw-Tite NASCAR truck racer, Brad Keselowski,” said Clarke. “Brad and his team are scheduled to make appearances and sign autographs.” Cequent will be at booth #30049 at the 2013 SEMA Show.
